every like this tweet gets i will recommend a movie
portrait of a lady on fire: it’s honestly the most beautiful film that i’ve ever seen. seeing a film about three woman stuck in a house on an island without any men is oddly refreshing.
lost in translation: MY FAVORITE FILM OF ALL TIME. the color palette, the cinematography, the writing, the performances, everything about this film is perfect. the first film that i watched that made me know that i would wanna work in the film industry
lady bird: this film always makes me so incredibly emotional. greta gerwig is literally a genius for directing this film and the way that she portrays a typical mother daughter dynamic really is refreshing. also the performances AMAZING
the half of it: this film is honestly so amazing and unlike any netflix film. it talks about love and how it’s not about finding your perfect half but it’s about sacrificing time and effort in order to make it work. from this film i really learned what genuine love is
gone girl: let me just say that this film just RADIATES BAD BITCH ENERGY. like this film really said fuck men. no but in all honesty the performances in this film are outstanding and the writing is genius. amy dunne is not a villain and i stand by that
500 days of summer: i have an emotional connection with this film because of the whole premise which is that you’re one true love may not even be the one for you. love is a construct and it is not achieved by temporary bliss by the wrong person.
frances ha: greta gerwig back at it again with her exuberance. this film essentially shows the beauty of the unknown and how dreams can be so temporary. i really love the cinematography and the color grading because it just adds to the new york aura
the farewell: honestly lulu wang really took it home with this film. this film showed me the importance of family and that life should be lived to the fullest. awkwafina deserves that golden globe because her performance made me heart break
little women: i feel like everyone has seen this film at this point but the performances and the score in this film were SUPERB. honestly the way women were portrayed as righteous and passionate about the quality of their lives really made me feel fulfilled
parasite: the foreshadowing in this film is actually horrifying. i love bong joon ho with all my heart and i think this film really shows hierarchy in the perfect way. the writing in this film is way too amazing and every single shot is just astounding
silver linings playbook: this film doesn’t get the recognition that it truly deserves. mental illness is portrayed in such a raw way which is honestly refreshing after seeing many inaccurate portrayals. this film shows that life shouldn’t be wasted on reminiscing on the past
booksmart: the amount of times that i’ve seen this film during this quarantine is baffling. the comedy in this film is incomparable to other comedy films. the portrayal of high school culture really is enlightening and the performances are perfect
