With COVID-19 shutting down AAU for the time being, I want to help HS players with recruitment.
What is the best way for recruits to contact you? What things can players do to stand out and get on your radar? Any other tips/advice?

Mid major D1 assistant: I would have them text us directly highlights and then have full games/transcripts ready to email if we like what we see.
Mid-major D1 assistant: Emails for sure. Have them include aau, HS, and parents phone number and tons of game film. 3-4 games if possible. Highlight film to start and then game film. That’s really the best way imo
D2 assistant: I look for academics immediately along with links to full game film. Then I want to know why they reached out to me about our school
D3 head coach: Email with transcript and test scores plus highlights. High academic d3s can do prereads and let kids know if they can get in early in the summer (some start June 1)
Mid major D1 assistant: Players should email highlights as well as a game but make the email personal. The mass “hey coach,” emails I don’t even look they need to do a little more homework on the school to see why they may fit. At least include my last name haha
Mid major D1 assistant: Direct contact is best (text/social media). Emails get lost in the mix too easily. Emails also require a lot more clicks. A tweet/text with a highlight film to intrigue a coach. Then provide a clear way how to obtain more info (coaches #, full game film)
High major D1 assistant: Scout one self: basically it’s their identity.
tell us who you are and then show in in video. HS and AAU if possibility
*show who you are (strengths) categorically
*skillset
*finishes (either hand/feet)
*defensive tendencies (on/off) ball

* What are you working on in the spring and summer to IMPROVE?Being aware of ones strengths and weaknesses is part of developing ones game.
Mid major D1 head coach: Put your real name in twitter handle and pin your hudl highlights from previous year
D2 head coach: Bulk emails do not work. I would add a full game too. So highlights and a full game.
D2 head coach: Self evaluation, Highlights, full game films, academic information, GPA and Test Score. Where they are from, you wouldn’t believe the amount of emails I get that don’t say where the kid is from. And correct punctuation and spelling. This is your first impression
