i unfollow for intentional-weight-loss talk and i block for using the random-caps meme.
if you& #39;re curious about the difference, i will try to explain:
i curate who i follow VERY carefully. it& #39;s rare that intentional weight loss talk comes onto my TL. when it does, i unfollow that person -- unless i care a whole lot about you for some reason or another, in which case i say something.
the random-caps meme feels like a punch in the gut every time i see it, and i see it a lot. i haven& #39;t been able to curate it away as successfully. so i need to block people who use it.
in case you& #39;re not sure why i feel that way about that meme:

that meme equates incorrect capitalization -- which in non-meme contexts is associated with things like disability and illiteracy -- with being willfully obtuse, selfish, and evil.
there have been people i cared about who i quietly unfollowed for intentional weight loss talk without saying anything. sometimes it& #39;s not my place onhere -- NOT because of the fat politics of it, but rather because of other axes of privilege. https://twitter.com/tommyinboots/status/1260397562235957249">https://twitter.com/tommyinbo...
there are also MANY more people i would follow in a heartbeat if i didn& #39;t need to keep my count so low for cognitive disability reasons! https://twitter.com/tommyinboots/status/1260397562235957249">https://twitter.com/tommyinbo...
