contemporary occultists lean left, and lean is too weak of a word really. it's become a part of the larger "alt culture" memeplex which includes all kinds of neo-paganism, witchy stuff, and also the successors of 1960s vintage hippy culture.

this is all massively Green (in the Wilber/integral map sense) in orientation and in 2020 Green maps to left/progressive with strong tendencies towards, uh, eco-fascism and authoritarian egalitarian ideology (to be uncharitable). The most zealous members are like that anyway.
