After reading the feed about my experience vs classic FG competition vs modern, it’s clear that many of you don’t know how skilled players were back then. Daigo entered a 10K entrant Zero3 single elimination tournament to qualify for JPN. US had 100ish and I almost beat him...
No YT, no vids, all training in arcades with strong opponents practicing day/night labbing vs CPU, spending money everytime to get better. Rematching cost money, think about that...
This was back in 97-98 as the first international showdown. You think just because 50-100 man tourneys back in the days we’re all scrubs with primitive skills? The ppl that took the time to enter tourneys back then were hyper competitive. None of this cry on twitter for patches
Quantity does not necessarily mean quality for all competitive games. When SF4 came out, everybody was wack af. Justin/Ricky ran train on the world for years with Rufus because everyone still sucked at fighting games. Where did this magical skill come from? Pre-SF4 era.
There are many good players today and some that I personally think they could be on the OG level. But being
here, most of you need to step your shit up.
