Yesterday I said goodbye to my best friend, I was blessed to be gifted with the greatest Nonno who taught me lifes most important values. Most of all, him & I had a connection like no other. No one understood either of us better than each other
Growing up living in the same house as each other, he used to live upstairs from me. Some of my greatest memories were watching Juventus vs Inter together & when Juve would score I'd hit the ceiling, and when Inter scored he'd hit his cane on the floor
His love for Calcio was the fuel to mine. One of my earliest memories was him telling me his first time going to the San Siro for an Inter match - he lived in Piacenza, was poor but the "rich" guy in town knew how much he loved @Inter_en & offered to take him
He hoped on a sidekart, in the pouring rain with just a blanket over him and took an hour drive. He said he'll never forget the moment he saw the stadium for the first time, it gave him emotions he never experienced before. To top it off, @Inter_en won that day
Most of all the things I loved was our sense of humor, we'd always try to top each other on how to crack jokes about ourselves & the people around us

On his 85th birthday I put his cake in a Juventus dish, he was refusing to cut the cake
Grandparents are such a blessing, and I feel like I won the lotto with mine. As grateful as I am because 90 years old is an absolute blessing considering what he went through over his life, it still feels like a part of me died today with him.
Time moves so fast, we often get caught up so much in our day to day we don't take time to realize the blessings we have around us. Life can change in an instant, let's always look for reminders of his lucky we are
