I feel like there& #39;s the group of remote workers in tech who work remotely in large part because they& #39;re disabled, and then there& #39;s everyone else
and when hot takes about remote work take off from the latter group, it actually just drives me up a wall

difficult to relate to people who& #39;s criticize "bad remote work" as involving a lot of zoom calls
I don& #39;t enjoy wall-to-wall zoom calls, but I have friends and coworkers who can& #39;t leave their homes and appreciate them
you not liking something doesn& #39;t mean it& #39;s garbage

remote work can mean working async!
it can also mean working from home with overlapping hours
trust and autonomy are about giving people what they need to get work done and not forcing them into ineffective processes they hate
that means different things for different contexts

anyway: will be pleased if more jobs hire remotely beyond COVID-19
even if they make people do regular zoom calls
and they make you log into slack at certain hours
and they make you give constant status updates
is it better than office work? for a lot of people, YES!!!
