Small businesses in Ottawa are in desperate need of government support. While we were quick to close our collective doors to help save lives, the government has been slow to provide the basic support that we require to re-open them.
Sure, we’re working hard to pivot – but pivoting takes time. As we’re rushing to bring our businesses online and fundamentally change the way we run them, the time is simply running out. We at @AvantGardeBar are facing these exact same challenges.
We, at @AvantGardeBar, are extremely grateful to @Shopify for helping businesses like ours migrate online. The government needs to provide a buffer zone for this migration to be successful.
With less than 20% of landlords expected to participate in CECRA, the federal government has to step in to ensure that small businesses, the heart and soul of our community, are protected.
