You do realise we know where we come from already right? Large portions of words from patois also have Akan origins. The question I have is why are people always trying to take our culture away from us? https://twitter.com/OGD_NSG/status/1260153466535673856
I've said it before and I'll say it again, dragging out this 'we're all African' line every 2 minutes has no reason other than to try and erase other black peoples cultures. We all have African HERITAGE, having african heritage and being african are not the same.
I never see people coming at black people in South America reminding them their African and trying to remove their rich cultural heritage, but when it comes to WIs its everyday try remove our heritage. Its exhausting.
Yes, many parts of our food, language and cultural practices come from primarily West Africa. Obviously. We are descendants if SLAVES. Slaves who, shock horror came primarily from West Africa. This does not make us the same. All black people are different, but we share ties.
Being West African is different from being East African is different from being Latinx is different from being West Indian, it's different from descending from any of these places but growing up in the West. Why is there always this need to antagonize each other?
Let's not even pretend like the second WIs act 'out of line' you're rubbishing us, saying were only good to beat and be baby mums, callings us slags etc, but then 2 minutes later its were all African? MISS ME
