1/8 Welcome to the #FidgetAndBob Kennet Island Tribune

We have kept trading through lock-down with the support of our wonderful customers. It's been tough, as we've changed a lot of what we do and how we do it. Nonetheless, we are one of the lucky ones.

There are many wonderful independent cafes and restaurants in a precarious position and wondered what positive actions WE can take right now to support them.

1. If they are trading, make an effort to support them with your custom. Buy what you can from them..
3/8

..rather than just what you usually get.

2. If they are not trading, buy a voucher that you can use when they re-open.

3. If there is a friend or family special occasion coming up, find a local business near them to source a gift.
4/8

4. Respect and abide by any COVID-19 safety measures. Don’t moan about it and resist. It makes them feel disrespected and why would you do that?

5. Be patient of longer-than-normal wait times and queues.

6. The world has changed beyond recognition. It is inevitable...
5/8
..they will not be operating as before. Don’t be peeved. They could well be making it up as they go along. Enjoy the ride!

7. Order direct if available, rather than use platforms like Deliveroo. Platform commissions can be hefty.

They need to keep every penny they can get.
6/8

8. Under no circumstances be abusive to staff. Public-facing people are at the frontline of risk. They don’t expect you to applaud them, but some appreciation and understanding is nice.

9. Think of the eateries you can’t wait to visit.
7/8

Go to the review platforms and give them the 5 star review they deserve. Help them attract more customers. They need customers - new and old.

10. Actively engage with their social media to help them gain more exposure. Like. Comment. Share.
10/10

Just don’t be passive and hope they survive. Hope alone doesn’t pay bills, rent, taxes, and salaries. Otherwise, you will find yourself lamenting their loss.
