I've had a lot of talks with the higher-ups within the music industry. Things are going to be very different for the future of live music, a lot more different than any of you could imagine. Also, it is very unlikely that any concerts will happen until 2021 or later.
When concerts DO come back (let's say 2021) there will be strict rules about distancing and the amount of people allowed in the venue. No moshing, no crowd surfing, no stage diving. Everyone will essentially be standing isolated and just listening to the music, nothing more.
Because of the strict limits that will be imposed on venue capacity, tours won't be financially viable for any bands unless ticket prices are raised a LOT higher... This sucks, but I have a few ideas about how we as bands can make this higher ticket price worth it for our fans.
I am not saying any of this to be pessimistic in any way. I'm always extremely optimistic. I just know a lot of insider info pertaining to the music industry and things are way different than any of you could imagine. Will it ever go back to normal? Sure! But not any time soon.
