My 11yr old wins today.
A birthday thread.
A birthday thread.
He brought this bag full of presents into my room this morning. He& #39;d been hiding them under his bed for weeks.
He& #39;d contacted his best friend& #39;s mum through Instagram and asked for her number. They& #39;d spoken on the phone on various days when I& #39;d be outside hanging washing out etc and my son had told her he wants me to have presents but can& #39;t go out and buy any...
... He apparently asked her if he could borrow some money and when she next went food shopping could she pick some things up for me in a supermarket that he knew I& #39;d love - socks, pyjamas, stationary, chocolate etc.
He told her he& #39;d pay her back out of his savings when lockdown was over and he could ask his Dad to withdraw the money from his savings account.
Everything I opened, my son had been sent various pictures when his friend& #39;s mum was in a supermarket and he& #39;d either said yes or no to it, and gave her ideas of what to look for.
This is what he chose for me. His friend& #39;s mum bought and wrapped it all and dropped it to our house without me knowing when I was in the bath one night, my son told me earlier.
I spent most of the morning crying. I can& #39;t believe how thoughtful he was to do all of this for my birthday!
Not only that, but he banned me from the kitchen earlier for a while and I could hear him and his brothers rushing around doing something. They shouted that I could come in now, I walked into this:
I made sandwiches for us and we had a picnic tea. No birthday cake but we did have various Mr Kipling snacks in the cupboard so that was my cake - a cherry bakewell with a candle in it.
Best birthday ever. I asked my 11yr old what made him want to do all this, he simply just said because he loves me and as he& #39;s gotten older he can see just how much I do for him.
The birthday stuff for the table had been hidden in the towel cupboard behind spare towels and I& #39;d not noticed it at all

Handmade cards from kids are bloody brilliant, aren& #39;t they? Blue is from my eldest (note the sarcasm about me getting old now), the others from my 6yr old twins. KW aren& #39;t my initials, he wrote it for Key Worker
