I get wanting to be with your church again.

But limiting capacity by 25%, spacing families throughout the sanctuary, wearing masks, keeping children from running around, having bathroom monitors, nixing socializing & communion, etc. feels less hospitable than a livestream.

I want to gather again too. But if we are fighting to hold on to what we had. Maybe there are more innovative ways for us to hold what's important (gathering, communion, singing, etc.) than what we had in the past.

Maybe the form of our gathering needs to shift.

Maybe the Spirit is leading us into the wilderness to do something new. Maybe this is our diaspora moment; a moment of re-engaging the world around us as we were meant to do.
