I forgot to share about month 2 of owning a business during covid-19.

For month 1, go here: https://twitter.com/brewlikeamother/status/1244823960799170561
- At one point, we were doing so well, we were up 15% from last year in April, and then that last week dropped pretty badly and we finished at -14% from last year. Now, that’s still pretty good considering We are open 3 hours less per day than during regular times.
- I went from having zero wholesale pastry clients to having 4 and that number is expected to reach 7 by the end of this month 😱. I can’t believe it. It’s something I had talked about but didn’t feel ready! I guess I just needed a push.
That 14% drop does not include any wholesale monies, because, you know, billing 😂
- I have a full staff again and still am looking for a few key people. It’s hard to hire right now! But I love my crew. We have done so many awesome specials - burgers, cinnamon rolls, French toast, biscuits and gravy! It’s so fun!
- Tips held steady at around $10/hour for my staff. That felt really good and overall we’ve had great experiences with customers. Our system feels good and we will continue to keep people out of the cafe for as long as we feel it necessary.
- Our average ticket is still up

- Retail is still up. 7% of sales now.
Lastly, I am still working way way too many hours. 15 hours a day almost every day. That is about to wind down - only having to work 8 hours on certain days. The new systems just take time to dial in and it’s hard. Really hard. But I’m happy and feel extremely grateful.
Wholesale especially has challenged me immensely and I have felt like quitting a couple times but I just cannot and will not. I feel so much better today after resting yesterday. My team is helping so much and I could not do this without them or my partner. Any other questions?
