Having spent the last few days thinking about how frustrated I am with how I perceive the lip service that has been paid towards the lower ranking players and events these past 5 years since my daughters have been playing ITF juniors etc I realise I am way too emotionally
Involved. I have spent a considerable amount of time personally trying to bring attention to the deficiencies and struggles. However, I have failed to make any headway. Then this pandemic has created a magnifying glass on the problem and people now are rushing to do something to
Try to make a inevitable inequality more palatable now there are a lot of eyeballs and articles. Has felt like the cavalry is charging in with no plan but in my eyes there could have been. Anyway the main purpose for this message is the one I made at the start i am way too
Invested through my daughters at the lower end. I see real potential for my daughters to not be able to even try to play in a post pandemic tennis world. It maybe not the most important thing given the crisis but as a parent you are emotionally invested in a scale that sets that
Aside even at these times. So for the time being i will use this opportunity to say sorry to @VasekPospisil for my ham fisted analogy although I stand by the fact I don’t believe anything has been detailed about how greater revenue from the Majors would benefit Futures players
I have followed keenly the story and wanted to see the lions share go to that area. Maybe that’s just fantasy thinking on my part but it’s what I hoped would happen because I genuinely believe tennis needs some serious restructuring for all. I don’t see how that can
Happen without a majority of the extra revenues from the Majors that are being asked for finding there way to the Futures. So again i wish the various parties involved good luck and I hope for tennis sake they find some common ground to do what’s right. I have been passionate
To try to bring change but I no longer will debate it as I know that my viewpoint is too weighted to the lower ranks of the game and it’s not healthy to be so narrow focused on one area. I believe redistribution of prize money at all levels needs to be implemented immediately
Before we restart tennis. We need to help all players try to stay in this game longer, to believe they have chance to follow their dream from day one and to do that we need to find a way to make it fairer. So I final sorry to @VasekPospisil and bye to Twitter till tennis returns
