Re this Nike conference story, we are to assume that - had Scotgov announced there was a cluster of infections associated with a particular conference - the media and opposition politicians would just have gone OK then & not demanded more & more details.

I mean you can take the view if you wish that Scotgov should have said what the Conference was, where it was held, how many attended, where they came from, how many were infected, how many were still in Scotland. But let's not pretend those questions wouldn't have been asked.

And let's not pretend that the media would never name and print pictures of individuals identified as spreaders of the disease because they have, in fact, done so. You are perfectly entitled to think that is justified but the NHS takes a different view on patient confidentiality.
