So on Sunday I found this hamper just outside my gate. At first, I thought it was one of my neighbours who left it at my gate as they have seen me giving food and parcels to this one gentleman who comes to my gate almost every day
So I asked my neighbors via our WhatsApp group about the hamper and if it was meant for me or for the said gentleman. Unfortunately, no one responded. So I took the hamper into the house.
So the next day (Monday) more or less the same time, my gentleman pressed the intercom. I then quickly dished up for him and went to meet him at the gate. So I asked him if he left something at the gate
He responded with a smile and said “yes I left tin stuff and other things at the gate for you”. And his reason was, a stranger gave him the hamper and R400, but because he is homeless and the hamper is too heavy, he decided to leave it by my gate.
This really touched my heart that a homeless person, who needs this more than I do, decided to give this to me. I am humbled by his gesture. I’ve asked him to bring a friend along everytime he comes for food.
