(1) So, I started uni with no experience of Classics. I’m only currently a 2nd yr student but thought I would make a thread of useful websites and resources for anyone who wants to get involved in Classics. #classicsforall #classicalstudies #classics
(2) If Roman History is your cup of tea then there's a really good website by Dr Richard Alston. It's aimed at A-Level students and people who are new to Classics. https://ancientromanhistory31-14.com/
(3) @PerseusDigLib is a massive website that I use ALL the time for Intermediate Greek. I think I’ve barely scratched the surface of it but you can access so many ancient texts in the original language and in English. If you click on a word, it takes you to a DICTIONARY which -
(4) gives you every single definition of the word and also parses it for you - so tells you the declension or the conjugation. Literally blows my mind! http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/hopper/
(5) The next is similar to Perseus Tufts but you can view the original language and then English or German or a bunch of other languages simultaneously. Mainly for Homer and Homeric hymns.

(6) This website made by @LacusCurtius is another vast website with mainly Latin and Greek sources and ancient texts and there are some real gems in there. https://penelope.uchicago.edu/Thayer/E/Roman/home.html
(7) Before I went to uni, the In Our Time recordings from Radio 4 really helped me with both basic and niche knowledge. They've got a page for Ancient Greece and for Ancient Rome. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01h9vvk https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01hb0h8
(9) These are just sites that I have used and found helpful. They might be obvious to other people, but they’ve been mind-blowing to me. If anyone has any other recommendations, feel free to add! #classicalstudies #classicsforall #ClassicsTwitter
(10) Also, fun fact: I edited this thread from a very long and rambling email to my friend who is hopefully doing Classics at sixth form next year. I had to apologise for sounding like a mad professor but I think most people who study classics sound a bit like that sometimes!!
