I can only imagine how great of an opening this is for someone who goes into AoT with no prior knowledge. Sets up so much intrigue and intensity with 3 pages.

First chapter was good. The anime adds so much intensity especially with the entrance of the Colossal and Shadis& #39; speech. Though they did remove that one panel of Grisha& #39;s face.

Doing this reread making me think that maybe reading AoT first is the best way to experience it for your first time. You& #39;ll appreciate the stuff that the anime does well and not be effected by the cut content. And even if the art isnt all that great early on it has a charm to it.

Isayama reusing lines hits so hard on the reread. It& #39;s stuff that you can& #39;t entirely group in with foreshadowing but it& #39;s still great.

In like, 1 minute, Eren is able to come up with two viable options for him and his friend& #39;s survival as well as the wisdom to entrust the decision to the person who he knows would be most logical in this moment, but no, hes just another hot head MC.

Armin is such a goat too. His whole arc of finding self worth is so well done and amplified when people literally give his life more worth than another later on.

This is a really important realization for Eren& #39;s character and the beginning of one of his main conflicts in finding and realizing his self-worth and what gives his life importance.

I enjoy that the characters in AoT actively try to solve the mystery of their own world for even small tidbits like this. And their questions arent always completely right and somewhat misguided. Makes them feel just like us.
