My controversial fandom opinion is the move from weekly serialization to netflix-style dropping entire seasons at once has been really bad for the longevity of fandoms and is why so many bloom and fade in five seconds now instead of chugging along for years

Weekly shows: builds anticipation. Time for speculation and theorycrafting. Slow burn of interest that lasts months and will carry you over the hiatus between seasons.
