Given the uncertain times my reprieve has been buying ttrpgs in order to not only support creators but get my grubby mitts on things to read and dream of running. So here goes my haul since things shut down... 1/9
First up is @MothershipRPG , I want more than anything to run this for a group. While I’ve primarily been running pbta/fitd games as of late, the interplay of design, the interplay of mechanics, and all around unity in theme has been haunting me since I started reading it. 2/9
Following the Mothership theme are three fantastic pamphlet adventures. The Haunting of Ypsilon 14 (the one shot I want to run first) and Hideo’s World from @playTKG and Moonbase Blues by @IanYusem 3/9
And to finish out the Mothership goodness is @SkullDixon Black Pyrami, a Egyptian space horror module guaranteed to make space archeologists out of any adventurer.
Into the odd by @bastionland is a Rule set that uses its simplicity to allow players to adventure into, well, the odd. Cue cosmic mishaps, horrors, hazards, and risk/reward OSR adventures. 5/9
Next up is the ever gorgeous Super Blood Harvest by @dirkleichty cue vampire space fortresses, abandoned moon temples, and Martian human fugitives form killbot guardian gods the size cities.
Keeping with the psychedelic space adventures, here’s Silent Titans by @dirkleichty and @pjamesstuart a gonzo mystery twisting through the ruined bodies of alternative reality space gods... rife with time@travel, hijinks, and mind mending friends and foes
My Zine Quest 2 fulfillment finally started with @uhcoolguy phenomenal: beak feather + bone a map-labeling rpg. I was able to play this with my group before ttrpgs turned into distance affairs... it’s design helps facilitate creative collaborative/competitive narrative play.
And not to leave out my older zines from the before time: goblinville (who doesn’t want to play a goblin gang contributing to society?) by @dunn_oconnor casket land (an occult western game dripping with style) by @so_engery and maze rats (an osr sandbox toolkit) @benjamilt
