WandaVision will be released on August 7th, 2020 and here’s why (a thread):
Reason 1: It’s my birthday and Marvel will want to show support for one of their biggest fans. What‘s a better gift than WandaVision?
Reason 2: August 7th is a Friday this year which is when Disney+ usually releases their content.
Reason 3: The MCU is known for releasing their movies early in the month, and WandaVision will likely follow the same pattern because these shows are basically just long movies.
Reason 4 (1/2): Disney needs these shows. Just like most businesses, Disney has been losing a lot of money due to COVID-19.
Reason 4 (2/2): Adding to that, we know that Disney+ is not going to be profitable for approximately 5 years because they’re putting more money into their content than they‘re getting back. This means that Disney is desperate for content to keep their viewership and profits up.
Reason 5: Tons of people have said that they are only getting Disney+ for the upcoming Marvel content, and Disney knows that so they are likely trying to get these shows up and running ASAP.
Question: But Maniac, wouldn’t Disney want to release WandaVision closer to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness? Ideally they would, but business is their top priority so they would rather release these shows as soon as possible.
Reason 6: We also know from insiders that WandaVision is not only finished filming, but their VFX are done too. The only thing that remains is editing, and because of Disney’s current situation, we can expect that WandaVision will be their top priority.
Question: But Maniac, why does it have to be August, besides it being your birthday month? Well, the month of August symbolizes “strength of character and imagination.” And what is this show about... Wanda becoming a stronger character and living in her imaginary reality.
Now with all this in mind we can actually predict exactly when the WandaVision trailer will be released...
We can expect that Disney will market the Marvel shows similarly to how they marketed The Mandalorian, whose first trailer was released 81 days before the show’s debut...
According to that math, 81 days before August 7th is May 18th (I know what you’re thinking and yes, that’s exactly a week from now). So we can expect a WandaVision trailer next week!
Adding to that, you may have noticed that WandaVision has been a hot topic lately. Brandon Davis said something about WandaVision being the first Marvel Disney+ show to be released. Also, Andy Park showcased some of his WandaVision concept art recently.
If you have any more evidence that supports my theory please share 😊 and make sure to stream WandaVision on August 7th, 2020!!
But there’s more! As twitter user @mcushrish pointed out, Marvel usually releases their trailers on Monday’s and May 18th is a Monday, further proving my theory ☕️
