Are you married?
Do you have children?

If yes, why in the world don't you have life insurance?
1. My father died when I turned 17.
2. He didn't have life insurance.
3. My uncles didn't help us.
4. My mom had to hustle to get us a good education.
5. If something happens to you, it can ruin your kids' destiny if your life is not insured.

Food for thought.
Before my father died, he was the sole breadwinner. He was paying university fees for 3 of us when life happened.

The 3 of us would have had to drop out of university without my enterprising mom.

You know there is no student loan in Africa, right?

Guy, protect your family.
I have no skin in the insurance game.

But my personal experience and the experiences of friends in South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, and Rwanda says this warning is necessary.

Life insurance is NOT optional if you don't have at least $500k in net assets.
So I am doing it a lot differently from my Dad.

My kid's college fund is fully funded, and I have put a trust in place to make sure they will be ok if something happens to me.

We are responsible for every life we bring into this world.

Selah!
