genya is such a comfort character for me. he’s not talented in the way everyone else around him so he has to fight in a style considered shameful. and he’s doing this to be with his brother. the brother that turns away from him but means so much to him and is all he has left.
seeing sanemi protect his brother after pushing him away for so long was so emotional for me. he loved genya back this whole time. he pushed him away because he wanted him to be safe. in the end the one person he wanted to save died and he’s left feeling he couldn’t protect him
i think these two are an amazjng parallel to the kamado siblings because it shows how loving each other doesn’t always cut it. sometimes you’re just not lucky. no matter how much you want to protect the people that mean the most to you there is no guarantee.
