In the years since Fergie's retirement United have massively under-performed. We have witnessed some terrible results and managerial meltdowns. Teams stopped fearing Old Trafford, many club icons left on poor terms and the atmosphere at OT became a shadow of its past self. (cont)
Through these difficult times, we have still been treated to a few memorable matches. Here is a thread reflecting on 45 of my favourite Manchester United games since the 13/14 season began. I might have missed out a few here and there, so apologies in advance.
1. 1-0 vs Liverpool, (H) 25/9/13, LC
A typical instinctive finish from Hernandez ensured we knocked the scousers out of the League Cup.
Fun fact - David Moyes had yet to make his way back into the dugout when the ball hit the back of the net seconds before the restart.

2. 2-1 vs Sunderland (A), 5/10/13, PL
By far my favourite goal that season. The day Adnan Januzaj announced his arrival and won millions of United fans over with a beautifully struck volley. He would go on to be one of the shining lights in an otherwise depressing season.

3. 3-2 vs Hull City (A), 26/11/13, PL
We were 2-0 down away from home and facing another defeat in the league. But Rooney was having none of that. He rallied the troops and ensured United completed the turnaround. That thigh control & first-time volley was sumptious!

4. 3-0 vs Olympiakos (H), 19/03/13, UCL
After losing the 1st leg in Greece, the pressure was mounting on David Moyes. Up stepped Robin van Persie who bagged a clinical hat-trick to bail us out. DDG had made a stunning save from point-blank range to deny them a crucial away goal.

5. 2-1 vs Arsenal (A), 22/11/14, PL
A counter-attacking goal at the Emirates by Wayne Rooney to secure a victory? No way I'm missing this one in my list! The calm and composed dink above the keeper was a sight to behold. Giroud's banger is worth mentioning as well.

6. 3-0 vs Liverpool (H), 14/12/14, PL
The scoreline actually flatters us. I wonder what the xG for that game was. De Gea was an absolute MONSTER that night. Sturridge and Balotelli were repeatedly denied by United's Numero Uno. DDG was soon going to become the best keeper itw.

7. 3-0 vs Spurs (H), 15/03/15, PL
What a memorable first half that was! All the talk before the match was about Rooney's boxing shenanigans which were leaked by a tabloid. He had the perfect answer for them with a superb solo goal. The celebration that followed was even better!

8. 2-1 vs Liverpool (A), 22/03/15, PL
JUANFIELD! Possibly my favourite game from that season.
The first goal was wonderfully set up by Ander Herrera. The second goal was class personified. Juan Mata's best goal for United till date without a shadow of a doubt.

9. 4-2 vs City (H), 12/04/15, PL
Van Gaal was starting to show his big game management skills. This was our 5th win against a top 6 side that season. Chris Smalling, Fellaini, Mata and Young all found the net in what was a very good team performance.

10. 3-1 vs Liverpool (H) 12/09/15, PL
Anthony Martial announced himself to the Old Trafford faithful that day with possibly one of the best debut goals by a United player in recent memory. Spare a thought for Benteke who scored a worldie that was quickly forgotten.

11. 1-0 vs Liverpool (A), 17/01/16, PL
Nothing too memorable about the match itself, but completing a double over the scousers in an otherwise terrible campaign definitely warrants a spot in this thread. And that finish by Wazza at the death. EMPHATIC. ooof.

12. 5-1 vs FC Midtjylland (H), 26/02/16, EL
A star was born under the floodlights at OT. Little did we know that this kid was going to become the focal point of United's attack in a few years time. For Rashy, the days that followed this night could only be described as a dream.

13. 3-2 vs Arsenal (H), 28/02/16, PL
Before the hangover from the European night could fade away completely, Rashford went on to announce himself in the Premier League with an instinctive brace that United forwards of the eras bygone would have been thoroughly proud of.

14. 1-0 vs City (A), 20/3/16, PL
There was no stopping young Marcus now. He nutmegged Demichelis and slotted the ball home with class. United fans slowly started realising that we had a future star in our ranks. He gave us hope.

15. 2-1 vs Everton (N), 23/4/16, FA Cup
Probably one of the most underrated matches post the Fergie era. The significance of this match cannot be underplayed. A late Martial strike finally gave us a shot at silverware after 3 full seasons of despair.

16. 2-1 vs Palace (N), 21/5/16, FA Cup
We finally won the FA Cup after what seemed like ages! This was the first time I saw my club lift this historic domestic trophy and I'll forever be grateful to van Gaal for this. Fun fact - I watched this match on a small box TV in Kasol!

17. 2-1 vs Leicester (N), 7/08/16, Community Shield
A start of a new era. We were heading into this season with so many expectations. Zlatan, Mourinho, Pogba. It almost seemed surreal. Loved Lingard's solo goal and Zlatan's header to set a memorable campaign rolling.

18. 2-0 vs Southampton (H), 20/8/16, PL
The day Paul Pogba made his United debut. I distinctly remember the aura around him that night. Showed us glimpses of what to expect from him. Tricks, flicks, long balls, through balls, the complete package. I still believe in him.

19. 1-0 vs City (H), 27/10/16, LC
A very important result for us. This was the first indication that Mourinho was taking the Cup competitions very seriously that season. Juan Mata coming clutch with another important goal against a strong team.

20. 3-2 vs Southampton (N), 26/2/17 LC
Our second piece of silverware in 9 months. Good times seemed imminent. Zlatan's freekick is still fresh in my memory. He struck it so well! Mourinho was slowly making a mark. He had already shifted his focus to the Europa League.

21. 2-0 vs Chelsea (H), 10/4/17, PL
After a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of the Blues earlier that season, this fixture MEANT more. Mourinho was not going to let Conte get a double over him and had a plan in mind. The game that will go down in memory as the Ander Herrera match.

22. 1-0 vs Celta Vigo (A), 5/5/17 EL
Rashford found the net with a sweetly struck freekick that gave us a vital away goal. It was a typical Mourinho result & this was another gritty performance that showed Jose meant business that season. He was a man on a mission.

23. 2-0 vs Ajax (N), 25/5/17, EL
12 Months, 3 trophies and the culmination of a successful first season under the new boss. Zlatan finished the season with 27 goals. Pogba was pulling the strings from midfield. Bailly had had a stormer as well. I could feel the positive vibes.

24. 4-0 vs Palace (H), 30/9/17, PL
6th time in 11 matches that we had scored 4 goals in a match. 4-0 FC was truly here. We had made a great start to the season and there was genuine belief that we could give City a run for their money in the league.

25. 1-0 vs Spurs (H), 28/10/17, PL
All the talk before the game was about Spurs & how they were favourites heading into the game. What transpired was quite the opposite. The crowd went nuts as Martial finished with aplomb. THAT iconic "shush" from Jose after the whistle

26. 4-2 vs Watford (A), 29/11/17, PL
Remember when the world was at Lingard's feet? His best United goal came at Vicarage Road after he ran the length of the pitch to score one of United's goals of the season. Young scored two bangers that night as well. The FK was class.
