i literally just thought of this ytd. What makes being in ur 20s so horrible is that there’s a pressure that you need to “make it” before you’re 30 and the standard to achieve is so high to the point that it makes no sense https://twitter.com/chiggitychives/status/1259404787553984513">https://twitter.com/chiggityc...
imagine just graduating uni, you dont know what tf is going on, all sense of structure is gone, getting a job is difficult, you start questioning whether you studied the right thing at all in uni, some ppl think still living with ur parents when ur in mid 20s is a bad thing
ur friend’s getting married left n right and start to have babies, u still dont know what tf is going on, u are surrounded by news about wunderkinds and teenage billionaires, young adults who can afford a house and a car when they’re 20s.
u dont have hobbies anymore because hobbies are expensive in a sense that u dont have the time to spare. spending time for fun things??? instead of having fun u just feel guilt. u have all the time in the world and YET u are also running out of time.
running out of time??? For what??? Who tf even knows bc there’s an arbitraty standard that u need to be successful!!! Quick!!!! fck that shit
I feel like being in ur 30s prob gonna be freeing as hell.
i google “can millennial even afford a house anymore” so often to find out how normal it is for ppl my age to own a house bc it’s literally drilled into my mind by my parents that it’s the “ultimate goal” and standard for success.
When u start to see how expensive houses are.. man it’s fucked up.
