I can’t be the only person who thinks it’s weird that image optical has a presumably lucrative deal as the official optometrist of the Canucks and that one of guys who runs the business also has a podcast where he says the Canucks ownership and management are never wrong
Look, I’d never question any podcast’s right to exist. They’ve found an audience, good for them. But I DO find it highly questionable that a couple of them have tried to position themselves as the saviours of journalistic integrity in Vancouver sports media
I think at some point you have to bring it up just to be fair. What right do you have to question a person’s bias when you literally have a financial stake in the team, small as it may be. This isn’t conspiratorial thinking, it’s just blatantly obvious
Myself and others like me 100% have a bias, but we mostly acknowledge it. To me that’s way less suspect than someone who insists they have no bias but consistently pushes the conversation in a direction that benefits management and ownership
Some people are saying this is a stretch and maybe it is. But I just ask who’s more likely to have a bias, some people who blog or someone with a material stake in the team? I think it’s a fair question since bias seems to be a hobby horse of some folks on Canucks twitter
