Trans people simply lack the demographic mass of Black people, women,
or even gay people. When a trans person becomes popular it means they appeal to cis people; there is no other way. I think this explains a lot of our anxieties around well-platformed members of our community.

Trans viewership can't support a career, TV show, or even a film. This is why the most famous & venerated film about trans men is transphobic trauma porn for lesbians, our most prestigious youtubers give us inarticulable anxiety, etc. "Community leader" means cis-palatable.

T4T content is subcultural in the severest sense, which is part of why it's so quickly forgotten by all but (if it's lucky) a few academic trans historians and casuals hungry for historical family. That's also why it's such important content. Rough life.

For other trans people it would be great if we could stop hating trans people, especially trans women, even more than their cis apologists just for doing numbers and making cash. Kill the cop in your head policing trans people to build your utopic trans future; it's not coming.
