It's really hard to have a solid sense of self-worth in a society where your worth is deemed by your productivity, especially when those you thought would be understanding (fellow revolutionaries???) Also define your worth by your productivity
I'm really trying to find a way that I can see myself as a valuable person who's earned a right to live knowing how much I depend on others, and doesn't that seriously suck???
Cw suicide

A big nefarious nugget at the core of this issue:

People don't value all productivity equally! I AM productive! I do a lot! A friend has even told me on three seperate occasions someone has told her my activity on here has contributed to them not committing suicide!!
//cw

How is saving *at least* three lives not productive? How is educating people about issues they don't understand or framing things in a way that cuts to the heart of the issue and makes it easier to talk about not worth the time invested?
The issue is not that I and other disabled people have nothing to offer, it's that when we offer intangible things, things which you can't hold in your hand, we're not valued and our contributions aren't acknowledged!!
You can't hold "You helped me realise I'm plural and now me and my headmates have found a supportive community and been able to learn to live together functionally" in your hand. But would anyone really say that's not valuable?
Disabled people who have difficulty providing tangible benefits you can hold in your hand (like food and medicine) who instead focus on intangible benefits you can't hold in your hand (like advertising mutual aid groups) are just as valuable as any abled person!!!
It sucks having to deal with ableism that devalues the worth of disabled people, but we're just as valuable as any fully abled person, and our contributions matter!!
