My friends and I came upon about 8 crows pecking the life out of what looked like a small jay. We interrupted it but one #crow kept trying to fly away w the jay and dropped it a few times. When we moved on the jay was catching his breath in a tree while crows circled. 1/2

I looked it up and says crows might attack a jay if the jay was too close to a crow's nest bc jays are predatory #corvids, but this was a small jay w white spots like a young #bird. So, why would #crows gang peck & kidnap a jay? 2/2 @CrowMonthly
