I got into an argument with a woman at the barn today who thought that the best solution was to lock all the old people in for 2 weeks and all the “able bodied people” should continue life as normal. Her justification was that only old people are getting it.

She was also not wearing a mask. I have been so diligent about mask and gloves the whole time I’m there and Clorox wipe EVERYTHING. It’s so frustrating that some people really do not care.

ALSO!!! 2 weeks ago this same lady was telling me that the virus does not actually exist and how it’s a test of how responsive the American people would be to following rules imposed by the government and how the stimulus checks were brainwashing people into communism.

Then she was like “my heart goes out to you seniors!” Yeah it’s people like you who DON’T BELIEVE IN SCIENCE AND MEDICINE that has made it impact my senior year. UGH

She just fed a laminitic pony two apples.

We confronted her today and she was like what’s the official diagnosis? Where are the test results? Ma’am you have already been responsible for the death of one pony please just listen to us

Yesterday she walked away from her horse who was in the stall with the door open and he got out. She had no urgency to get him and didn’t grab a halter to try and lead him back?? Just being like “hey please come back” and waving her arms

And today she fed the same pony a treat during my lesson and then acted surprised when my trainer yelled at her?

And then when I was leaving was coughing without covering her mouth. I’m glad she’s been walking around touching things without gloves and a mask all day!

Her: I’m so glad we survived COVID and the riots!

Me: it’s far from over. We still have a long way to go...

Her: I disagree. I think it’s over.
