someone’s gonna get mad at me because a lot of women working harder jobs also returned to work soon after giving birth when my point is that not only should ALL WOMEN have paid maternity leave but also the male-dominated entertainment industry is so abusive to women

but when you don’t hire women behind the camera this is what happens like as someone who is completely obsessed w/ TV writing & production i think it’s disgusting how women are treated in that industry particularly concerning childbirth

w/ gillian on the x files it particularly bothers me. chris carter & fox have spent the last ~30 years sucking their own dicks bc they wrote a strong female character but basically forced a woman in her mid 20s to go back to work 10 days postpartum like??????

whenever ppl talk ab it it’s like ‘gillian anderson returned to work just TEN days after giving birth! wow her work ethic!!!!’ and i’m like....do you think she had a choice in the matter do you think she decided 100% of her own accord to do that?

especially since she talked abt being extremely sick & tired after returning to set. idfk which morally bankrupt fox execs decided that maternity leave was optional but i really hope they’re out of a job by now
