Now that the majority of the international press has left Hong Kong and unlikely for return in the near future, the govt no longer gaf about keeping up with appearances, what happened the past month, including this weekend, is the start the new “normal” for Kongers.

...rioting will soon become treason, sedition. Aside from leaving, I can think of no solutions where lives would not be endangered.

Despite not foreseeing covid, @ProfProton2019 was right as usual, HK is an open air prison, it might still not “feel” like one for some, but it is run like one.
Only difference being, some of us could still leave if we choose to, or could afford to. I have never been a patriot of any sort, be it towards Canada or HK or China, i believe in protecting the people not the soil, as such, i have no issue with leaving CCP with
a piece of real estate for them and their lackeys to exploit. Therefore, i have always advocated that we need to get as many of us out as it is feasible, i would rather for people who could afford to fund the struggle to fund safe passages for those who want to leave but can’t
for those who think that they could take on the ccp without affecting your way of life beyond inconveniencing your daily commute, this is not the fight you signed up for. This is a government that would not flinch when playing chicken, to them we are flies on their windshield.
There is no winning, there is stalling and there is surviving. Perhaps, i am a defeatist, but i ask you, are the majority of us really willing to give up everything to fight? I don’t mean figurative one but a literal one.
