queerbaiting BY THE WAY was a term invented to explain the phenomenon of STRAIGHT WRITERS of tv shows when they would hunt that a popular ship of said show was gay or that they would eventually be together ie sterek of teen wolf or destiel of supernatural it was never meant-
to mean real life people like musicians or actors I first saw this term used in the teen wolf fandom however in the past like two years twitter has taken this term and ran with it to hound various artists about their sexuality it’s absolutely disgusting artists do not owe you-
representation or an explanation they do not need to state yes i’m bi yes i’m gay yes i’m straight because a lot of the time that is a private and very internal issue that you as an audience doesn’t NEED to be privy to I can’t imagine my coming out being front and center-
for millions of people to analyze / pick apart or to be ridiculed for my sexuality it’s why people claim fluidity non labeling or don’t say anything at all or even simpler they simply dont care or don’t know WHICH IS FINE i don’t understand why gay/bi people have become obsessed-
with this because a) queerbaiting never meant what they think it means in the first place b) it’s none of our business and c) these are real people with real lives not characters for us to project onto so let’s stop using that term to demand things from ppl we don’t KNOW
