Finished re-watching S2 of AoT. Honestly I'm stunned. Historia's relationship with Ymir and her character arc centered around embracing her identity and being true to herself were both absolutely beautiful. Ymir's arc as well moved me. Season 2 hit harder this time around.

I enjoyed the rest of the cast but the other highlights of the season for me were Reiner and Berthold. I was too busy hating on them the first time around to appreciate how quickly they cemented themselves as being fantastic antagonists and characters in their own rights.

The fact that the show was capable of making me empathize and care deeply about them despite the horrible things they did really speaks volume at how well the author knows how to write the characters. I really have to applaud him because I just love these two now.

The characters are incredible, the mysteries are masterfully layed out, and the plot continues to be as engaging as ever. Even though I did really appreciate this season the first time around, once again, the rewatch really make evident all of the show's qualities to me.
