i rly dislike how the narrative about the jiang parents has just shifted to "they& #39;re shitty parents period"... like yeah they& #39;re not the best but also asian parents who don& #39;t know how to communicate and accidentally sow conflict between siblings for acknowledgement is VERY real
i just wish ppl would explore this more instead of just brushing the jiangs aside?? they were super complicated and super interesting but anyway
anyway I& #39;ve noticed this sort of thing a lot more since mdzs became more popular and im just like hhhh consider cultural nuances and a lot of asian parenting is based on the principle of tough love which is controversial but more complicated than being "bad" or "good"
ok i guess since im already dying on this hill i also hate when ppl make lqr out to be really hateful or homophobic?? like the dude practically lost his older brother to a bad relationship and was left to raise his nephews?? ofc he doesn& #39;t like wei wuxian
if u only watched the drama and know nothing about the novel don& #39;t interact lol... anyway im not here to create debate and im not interested in debating randos bc my point is that the jiangs real to a lot of people and are products of the work theyre in (wartime cultivation)
