now that things have cooled down abit, i’m seeing really mixed opinions on weibo about fansites. do you think fansites should all be considered stalkers and boycotted
OR
should fansites not be considered stalkers and be allowed to continue GIVEN THAT they respect boundaries?
but then the latter also raises the qn: where are the boundaries, how far is too far?
the argument i’m seeing on weibo is that fans think fansites contribute to yibo’s popularity in some ways. with yuehua’s bad promo and yibo’s inactivity on social media, they think that fansites keep the fandom from fizzling out between releases, esp with a lot of new fans rn
i’m understanding the rationale, but idk how i feel abt this morally. i guess it all goes back to the previous qns, are fansites and stalkers one and the same? if not, what boundaries must fansites respect to stay credible? what do y’all think? no judgment, i’m genuinely curious.
to clarify, i know that some, or even most fansites absolutely deserves to be called stalkers. in this thread, i’m referring to those that reside in the grey area... if such fansites even exist. (if they don’t then consider the entire discussion purely theoretical)
