During an Iranian naval exercise, the Moudj class frigate Jamaran (IRIN-76) mistakenly targeted the patrol boat Konarak (Hendijan class General purpose tenders) likely by Noor anti ship cruise missile (Iranian copy of C-802).
Per local medical officials, the Iranian Konarak tender casualties include 1 dead, 3 released as outpatient and, 12 were hospitalized including 1 under surgery and 2 in the ICU.
I don't think the practice missile had an active warhead. https://twitter.com/IranIntlbrk/status/1259710835011846145?s=20
The initial news were definitely wrong and the Iranian tender casualties include 19 killed and 15 injured.
Also the tender pictures after the incident show that the C-802 missile definitely had a combat warhead. The front half of the boat is gone. They were really lucky.
New picture of the Iranian tender ship hit by friendly AshM. The level of damage shows it was tugged soon otherwise it would have sunk at the hit site.
In an interview with local fishermen, they say they saw the #Konarak Iranian #Navy ship tender being hit around 1500 local time. They were 32 miles of the coast.
2nd part of interview:
Fishermen started transferring #Konarak injured sailors to the coast. The first IRIN helicopter arrived at the scene after 1830 and first rescue boat after 1900 (4 hours after the incident).
