I love a good superhero story so fucking much. But so many of them are straight up "Marvel or DC, but not under copyright."
Not that there's ANYTHING wrong with doing file off the serial numbers builds! I love many of them! But much as with zombies, finding something innovative in superhero fiction is AMAZING.

"The Protectorate" controls North America. Children are tested for Gifts at age five, and collared to suppress them. Regular death matches are staged between Protectorate soldiers and captured dissidents.
(The only thing most Dissidents did wrong was being born with powers.)
STORM FORGED, by @P_Dugan, is a superhero coming of age story with a truly innovative structure for both powers and politics.
I have some issues with the gender balance of his heroes; all the truly powerful female characters either died in the war or are in hiding. But it's the first in a series; this could change.
Released by @FalstaffBooks, this one is definitely worth your time.
