I keep butting my head up against how much TIME quarantine sucks up. Everything takes so much longer than before, and I didn't have a lot of "free" time before this.
Your Walmart delivery order (which you're paying extra for because you're a vulnerable population, aka Disability Tax) had 7 items "out of stock" (were they really out of stock? who knows.) so now you have to search Amazon Fresh for them.
We spent all of today--ALL of today--driving to two different Asian markets on opposite sides of town looking for rice. Not complaining here, just... it takes so much time. So much time and extra money.
I feel guilty that I'm not writing more for my readers and my patreon--income that keeps us literally alive! which, BY THE WAY, THANK YOU!!!!--but, like. *helpless gesture* When? In between the extra baths and showers, the extra shopping time, the extra drives, the everything.
And we don't even break quarantine that often! Just when we need food! Food! But everything takes so much time, it's like I'm moving through molasses.
I feel disconnected from reality.
It shouldn't take an hour or more to throw 7 things into an Amazon cart. (Related: Why show me "out of stock" items, it is emotionally DRAINING to see all the things I need but cannot buy.)
And then you have the disconnect of Walmart's site showing things "out of stock" at our local store when they really aren't. I do not blame the employees, who deserve my support!! But it means vulnerable people can't get the things we need, while the healthy (or reckless) can.
Every white person at the Asian market wasn't wearing a mask, by the way, except Kissmate and me. I was so upset.
White people don't want to wear masks because they "don't protect the wearer" and THEY aren't sick (so they assume), but they want the Asian employees at the markets to all mask up. It's infuriating. Wear a goddamn mask, Karen and Bob.
