A Runners Story

A thread:

When I was 23 years old, and in grad school, I was training for a half marathon. I was running six days a week, logging lots of miles, and I ran through a lot of neighborhoods... some that were under development.

1/
I can remember on multiple occasions stopping for a breather and going in to a home that was under construction just to check it out. I was young, naive, and curious... that was all. Sometimes I’d do this, and no one would see me.

2/
One time, someone did see me... a young couple. I’ve never told another soul (not even my wife) what happened to me as a result.

Are you ready?

3/
They waved at me.

I waved back.

And then I started to run home.

That’s all.
