A4: oh god, so much.

• Matching me with those I was comfortable with
• A better understanding of how I interpreted language and questions: so often I just sat in therapy and thought "they're asking the wrong questions, why are they asking the wrong questions"

2/
• Asking if I needed breaks, needed something to fiddle (stim) with, asking how I preferred people refer to me - basic etiquette.
• Offering me different modes of communication. E.G intead of just speaking = speaking + writing to a therapist
• Suggesting labels /names for
3/ - the struggles I had. I had been in & out of therapy (including regular meetings with a psychiatrist) from child to adult & nobody had ever even hinted that I could be autistic. The "treat without naming" notion can only go so far imo.
• Don't ask "how can we help". 🙄
4/4
• Teaching how to self-comfort /self-care (!!!).

So much therapy happens w/o the therapist letting you know that you might get a "therapy hangover" or working to re-establish a balance before you leave a session. (😠!)
