my reasoning:
-pope showed signs of liking her for the entire season, & was there for her ANYTIME she was upset
-she kissed 2/3 of the pogues,, its v unrealistic for her to have had a thing with all three and it...

...would create drama in the friend group
-pope genuinely cares about her very deeply and it's obvious (not that jj doesn't but pope is in luv luv how can yall not see that)
-pope & jj are BEST FRIENDS and their friendship is too wholesome to be fucked over a girl

lastly:
my idea(s) is that when they go to the bahamas OR some girl will move to the obx and she will be just as crazy/had just as much trauma as jj BUT shes very sympathetic and reasonable which would complete him,, also good bc it lets kie and pope luv eachother

OR.....

... some new girl (with the same personality as first ideas girl) doesnt know that rafe is a fucking psychopath and gets with him and as the relationship becomes abusive and she realizes shes being used jj becomes friends w her and slowly finds out whats going on and helps her

one more thing,, it would shatter my man popes heart if the girl he liked got with his best friend. he doesn't deserve thatttt!!!
