Elections can be hacked as:
* Ballot styles are transferred from the EMS computer to voting machines
*Totals are transferred from voting machines to central tabulators
*Totals are transferred from central tabulators to online reporting. Thread. 1/

Sometimes these transfers occur via removable media, such as memory cards or USB sticks. As discussed in my talk, post 1, the 2000 presidential election was marred by a supposedly “faulty” memory card that deleted 16k votes from Gore, which was noticed only bc a poll worker....2/

... happened to notice that Gote’s vote total was going down. Election logs referenced a phantom second card for that precinct that has never been explained. 3/

Some jurisdictions may send the aggregated totals from the central tabulators to the online reporting system over a network, creating a portal for internet hackers to access the central tabulators: an election hacker’s dream. 4/

Is this how the internationally infamous hacker CyberZeist might have managed to infiltrate a state election system in 2016, as he claims in @KillChaindoc? 5/
