I can’t find that ridiculous tweet about John Green again but as this is now a platform for my quarantine ramblings, I would like to say that John Green is a YA fiction writer and is allowed to create a protagonist with sexual desires (as all YA fiction writers can and should)

This kind of talk is especially infuriating since YA is so dominated by cis straight white women.

Can we save the crusades for fictional depictions that are actually predatorial? Eg “Manhattan”

Or artists who are actually predators? Eg Woody Allen

This also just goes to the very heart of what fiction is. If you’re a woman writing about a man attracted to women does that automatically make you attracted to women? Like Jesus use your brain for 1 second.
