I will say one of the best things about being an adult tricycle rider is the informal bonds it creates, particularly in my neck of the woods
When I& #39;m out and about; Black people of all ages, abilities, and sizes stop me to ask me questions about my tricycle. Many of them don& #39;t relate to normal bicycle culture but didn& #39;t know there were alternatives that could actually be comfortable and functional
Lets be real, bicycle culture in the U.S assumes a white default in consumership, design, and price point
finding a bicycle that works for you if you don& #39;t fit that paradigm, that you can afford no less, gets *rough*

so being able to talk to skinfolk about the world of adult tricycle riding is great. you see a shift in what people assume is possible
particularly in a space that& #39;s losing bike stores & where Black bike riding is routinely criminalized + surveilled

as we make this shift to the "new normal" many believe will need to be built
I hope bicycle culture as it is (both its radical & capitalist iterations) collapses in on itself completely to make space for literally everyone else that doesn& #39;t care to imitate Lance A
