Gonna be giving my two-cents on how accurately Act-Age portrays the acting world with every chapter starting now. From what I’ve seen in the acting field anyways.

1. The mangaka def makes a point of showing with every production that time really is money.
1(continued).

They make it clear that the only reason the director hasn’t gotten rid of Kei is because of the clout Arisa has in the industry. Since she’s portrayed as the Speilburg when it comes to entertainment scene in Japan.
2. This is actually not too far from the truth, even if it’s a bit exaggerated. I’ve played around for method acting for a role at one point. And you never really know how much power your mind has until you try and manipulate an emotion.
2.(continued) the best example I can give for the power of method acting is Heath Ledger with Joker. Once you dedicate enough time to trick your mind into an emotion, sweating wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility in terms of method acting.
3. As an actor, you’re always promoting yourself as a product. I’ve seen the most success in Actors who throughly research their roles and remember names involved in the project. Which the they make a point of here, the “role” in this instance being the product.
4. Researching, Acting techniques, Connections. Those are the biggest tools to have as an actor, all of which add up to deliver a note worthy performance. The directors are always going to be the ones who pay attention to your work the most.
5. While Method Acting is hyped up. There are other legitimate methods actors use to carry their success. Such as actors who rely on their looks/builds to carry their atmosphere while simply playing themselves. (Riku Oogami, The Rock, Jennifer Aniston)
6. I love how the mangaka clearly knows that you could be the best actor in the world, but still not be a successful actor. Similar to how you could make the best product in the world, but if you don’t advertise it and promote it properly, you won’t get no where.
7.

Sadly there really are snakes like this when it comes to meeting your fellow actors. You see it most in the smaller productions. Some people will suck up/tear others down to get anywhere. Which makes it no surprise why Hollywood has the reputation it has now.
8.

More examples on how researching can really go long ways in terms of impressing your director and producers. The crew wants to give you the rundown as quick as possible with little misunderstandings, so the fact that she knows more then the actual directors makes big waves.
9.

She isn’t wrong to be heavy alluding to the inevitable breakdown Kei is going to have at the price of her method acting. Method Acting has been known to mess people up permanently. From falling down a dark path like Heath Ledger, to even developing multiple personalities.
10. This really shows the power of connections. Kei has been blessed to recieve so much support from A-List people in the industry, rightfully so. If she didn’t have the connections, she would still be out here getting rejected in auditions.
10. That being said, you will probably never see the same person on multiple ads like this unless the advertisements were for the same company/similar products. Most companies make you sign contracts that forbid you be on any commercials until theirs finishes airing/showing.
That pretty much covers most of my takes on how accurately the mangaka portrays the acting world. I wouldn’t be surprised if she was actually in the field at some point from how dead on she gets with most of these portrayals. I’ll be doing these reviews for every chapter from now on. Just so people notice how accurately this series actually is.
