Hear me out, what if instead of #mothersday we had a society that rewarded and valued the physical/emotional labor of motherhood, cared about maternal mortality across the board, subsidized childcare, and didn’t just make media space for mothers for a week or so in May?

Never have I ever felt less supported by American society than in my first six months postpartum, and I’m white and financially stable and in good health. Brunch is great, resources and radical honesty and revolution are better.
