It’s welcome the govt is not ending lockdown - given the lack of a comprehensive testing, tracing & isolation strategy

But I simply do not understand why the PM changed the message from “stay at home” to “stay alert” - whatever “stay alert” is supposed to mean /1

I also worry about people who watched tonight & may still not know if they should go back to work tomorrow

In the middle of this pandemic we need clarity of purpose & consensus on the way forward. I worry we don’t have that clarity & so are losing the consensus across the UK /2

That said @LibDems continue to support the experts & the lockdown.

The PM was right to praise the British people & the sacrifice of millions which has been inspiring /3

The govt must focus on creating the infrastructure to successfully test, trace & isolate, to keep people safe

We need clarity on what the end of furlough means, & what further support self employed people can expect - many of whom have had no support whatsoever 4/

I’m also so incredibly proud of @LibDem members, activists and Parliamentarians who are doing an amazing job helping in communities & holding the government to account
