Glad to see I'm not the only one confused by this graph. The X axis can't be R, surely? But also the Y axis can't be either? What is that R=1 line doing?
The most likely axes presumably are for infection rate against time. But we didn't peak at R=1. I suspect this graph will feature heavily in future How Science Works lessons.
I mean, at least it's not as poor as this slide. I genuinely had to rewatch the briefing to check they'd actually included this. They had.
